This Privacy Policy explains what data the Gringosi Radio 24/7 Discord bot ("the Bot") collects when it is added to a Discord server, how that data is used, and who it is shared with.
This Privacy Policy applies only to the use of the Bot within Discord.
The Bot is a simple radio-streaming bot and does not build user profiles or maintain a database of personal information. Specifically:
Server & voice channel ID. When you use a command such as !joinradio or !play, the Bot stores the Discord server (guild) ID and the ID of the voice channel it joined in a small local file on our server. This is used solely so the Bot can automatically rejoin the same voice channel and resume playback if it restarts (e.g. after a maintenance update). This record is deleted automatically when the Bot is told to leave the channel (!exitradio / !stop).
Message content. Because the Bot needs to recognize its own text commands (e.g. !play, !status), Discord's "Message Content" permission is required. The Bot reads messages only to detect whether they start with its command prefix (!). Messages are processed in memory and are not stored in any database. For operational debugging, command activity (author name, channel name, and message text) may be temporarily written to a local application log file on our server; these logs are used only to diagnose bugs and crashes and are not analyzed, sold, or used for any other purpose.
No other data (e-mails, avatars, DMs, IP addresses, etc.) is collected by the Bot.
The limited data described above is used exclusively to operate the Bot's core functionality: joining/leaving voice channels, resuming playback after a restart, and responding to commands. We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, or analytics.
We do not sell, rent, or share any data collected by the Bot with third parties. The Bot connects only to the official Gringosi Radio stream at https://radio.gringosi.com/radio, Discord's API (required for the Bot to function), and Discord's servers for authentication.
Voice-channel state is deleted automatically once the Bot leaves a server's voice channel or is removed from the server. If you would like any data associated with your server deleted sooner, or have any other question about this policy, contact us using the details below.
We take reasonable measures to protect the limited data processed by the Bot. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the Internet is completely secure.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
